From the earliest single blue strobe light and a basic siren, police vehicles have probably become the most advanced of emergency vehicles. State regulations differ for what is required lighting and siren wise for police vehicles, which is why they cannot be fitted with any standard LED light bar. The LED light bar is now fairly standard equipment, and they do the job of protecting our officers well. A flashing light instantly signals that a vehicle up a head is attending an emergency or other situation. An LED light bar on a vehicle should be easy to spot and the siren should be easily seen.
There are some instances where emergency personnel have been killed roadside whilst attending an emergency. That is despite the vehicle having an LED light bar fitted, which was flashing and illuminating and warning of hazard. You would think it incredibly difficult to not be aware of a flashing LED light up ahead, sadly many drivers do not see them.
